Women Ministry 2023 Update

Nancy Holifield serves as Women’s Ministry Leader and is pleased to invite women of all ages to join us in our worship and praise of our Lord Jesus Christ. We strive to provide encouragement, learning opportunities, friendship strengthening, and faith building for our women at First Baptist.

WOW (Women on Wednesday): A program for women meets every third Wednesday for fellowship, friendship, and faith building. (6:30-8:00 pm) Program includes Bible study, prayer, fellowship, and food. Laughter has been known to sound out from these gatherings of friends.

Secret Sisters: The first session of Secret Sisters has begun. It will conclude on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 with dinner party at FBC. Sisters will identify their chosen sister and exchange gifts. New session will begin on January 7, 2024 and conclude December 2024.

Special Event:

Women are invited to join us in our Women’s Conference Saturday, September 16, 2023 beginning at 8:30 a.m. and closing at 2:00 p.m. Our speaker for the event will be Shellie Rushing Tomlinson from Louisiana. Rachel Stuckey and the Pine Grove Praise Band will be our musical guests. Event will feature praise and worship, bible study, fellowship, and brunch. A book store will be available for purchase of resources. Please join FBC women and women from our surrounding area in this exciting morning. Event is free. A love offering will be taken. Our annual Christmas Celebration will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023. Our FBC women decorate tables and invite friends and family to join them for this gala event. There is always seating for anyone who wants to attend. A special speaker will be on hand to encourage and point us toward the Christ of Christmas. A delicious dinner will be served. Please mark this on your calendar and plan to join us.

Sunday School: FBC offers several Sunday School Classes for women. Women of all ages are invited to join us Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. for Sunday School. Judy Childers’ class meets in the room across the hallway from the pastor’s office with her class. Tara Beauchamp’s class meets upstairs across from the men’s class. Nancy Holifield’s class meets upstairs near men’s classroom. Each room is identified with sign by the door. Please come and join us if you enjoy Bible study, warm friendship, and laughter. These small groups strengthen and encourage believers in their walk with the Lord Jesus.

Widow’s Ministry: Charlotte Smith leads the Widow’s Ministry assisted by helpers: Robin Brown, Linda Chewning, Judy Childers, Bev Baumer, and Katy Bracker. They meet once a quarter for a fellowship luncheon with the widows of FBC.
