    Women Ministry Coming Events:

  • Secret Sisters 2024
  • The Secret Sisters program is getting ready to start a new session for 2024. Survey sheets for adults and for students can be found in the FBC foyer. Students are invited to participate with their moms. Women of all ages are encouraged to join this exciting ministry that focuses on prayer and ministry to other women. The program works this way: 1) women fill out a survey sheet giving details about themselves; 2) Surveys are gathered by coordinator and assigned a number; 3) Women then draw a number to find out who they will be praying for and ministering to as their secret sister. 4) Sisters are to encourage their secret friend once a month and on special occasions with cards, small gifts, or other surprizes. 5) Gifts (treats) are labeled with receiver’s name and left at FBC for Secret Sister to pick up. The group will meet in December for a Secret Sister Reveal party. Other group meetings may be called during the year. The goal of this ministry is to encourage prayer, ministry, and friendship among the women of FBC. Women who participated in the first session (2023) testified that it was very encouraging. One lady said, “This program really made me feel a part of FBC like never before. I am grateful that I could participate.” Stated another way: the purpose of this ministry is to encourage, support, and edify other sisters in Christ, in addition to getting to know one another. There are many ways of encouraging or letting your Secret Sister know you are thinking of her. Some examples would be a nice card or a small gift. It is not so much giving gifts as it is prayer and spiritual support. Gifts are nice but prayer is better. What We Believe.

    The Scriptures.

The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. It reveals the principles by which God judges us, and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried. All Scripture is a testimony to Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

There is one and only one living and true God. …The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. He is the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the Universe. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence and obedience.

    God the Father.

God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. …God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.

    God the Son.

Christ is the eternal Son of God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ, He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. …He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His substitutionary death on the cross, He made provision for the redemption of men from sin.

    God the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. …He exalts Christ. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. …He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.

Salvation involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer. In its broadest sense salvation includes regeneration, justification, sanctification, and glorification.
